Hi, I’m Viv and a bit about me and why I started this blog!

I fell in love with Sardinia from afar (from the U.S. to be exact) — to me it’s a mystical land that calls out to certain people. Though I fell in love with Italy over 20 years ago on a first trip to the Big 3: Rome, Venice & Florence; exploring with my best friend & fellow artist buddy Kenneth.
First it was the Nuraghe — those ancient stone towers holding centuries of mystery, upon seeing images I knew I needed to go see them in person. Then it was the land itself — raw, wild, and breathtaking — again mostly from pictures.
Now having visited it’s the people, their variety (obviously) and in some a warmth and depth that I, a stranger, find intriguing.
My background is as an artist since childhood, I’ve attended the famous high school-featured in the old film (and then TV series)called “Fame.” Led education tours at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC, and taught painting & drawing for years.

After leaving arts education, I began working in the fields of yoga, wellness & meditation with an interest in Divine Feminine spirituality, history and icons. Thus I was intrigued when some scholars tied some Nuraghe to places of ritual for ancient god/desses. Ruins on the island of Malta also call to me for the same reason!
Feel free to reach out either if you have some Sardinia (Sardegna) expertise on local art, ancient ruins/nuraghe, etc. I’d love to chat!
